Cinnamon Ornaments Cut out designs with cookie cutters. If making hang-up ornaments, be sure to make your holes while dough is wet. Let air dry on rack. If you find that the dough isn't the right consistency for rolling out, add more applesauce or glue to get the consistency correct. These make nice decorations for packages, wreaths or just to hang on the Christmas tree. You can also make a garland using them with several dried apple slices in between the cutouts.
Play Doh-Thanks
Wendy! Place a sheet of wax paper on your work surface and sprinkle it with some of the flour. Knead the clay dough into a ball on the wax paper. Divide the ball into equal sections and add some food coloring to each separate section. Knead each section so the food coloring is distributed throughout. Add more food coloring if you want your clay dough color darker. Let your child sculpt figures, shapes, designs, etc. from the clay dough. When finished, you can let the clay dough creations air dry or, if you want to save the clay dough to play with at another time, store the clay in separate plastic bags or airtight containers and refrigerate.
Silly
Putty (Goop) Let stand and pour of any excess starch. Store the container in the refrigerator.
1 cup Ivory soap flakes Enough water to make whipped cream consistency Assorted food coloring
Combine the water and soap flakes into a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy. I place a little bit of mixture into paper cups and stir in food coloring to make different colors. Sit back, relax and watch your kids have fun!
